The kids and I went with Mom, John, and Kyla to Beech Mountain, NC the other week. It was a long drive down - 7 hours and a long and scary drive up the mountain. Mom had rented a huge and beautiful cabin at the top of the mountain. The first morning there we encountered a bear wandering in the neighbors yard going down the mountain. Mom saw the same bear with think walking, and John saw a bear in our yard at the road one night. It did rain a lot while on the trip, but we went to the Linville Caverns, the only thing Bryson wanted to do, the Linville waterfall, and Tweetsie Railroad, the highlight of the trip. The last night was got the most wonderful pizza from a local pizza parlor and while packing Alexander tripped, fell, and knocked a small round table through the front window, busting it (hince the cardboard and tape holding it together). To say the least, it was an interesting week.
