So, Bryan and I celebrated our 11th year anniversary this past January, but unfortunately Bryan did not get a present. He was told his present was not ready and here yet and he had to wait. Over the course of the last few months, he has asked various questions. He knew it was not here, he knew it was not ready, he knew it was being paid for, and he knew none of it was on the credit card. I had been planning this trip for the two of us since October.
Imagine his surprise the morning of when we drove to Norfolk, with the kids and my Mom in the back and he came face to face with this huge Carnival Glory cruise ship. He thought we were driving to pick up a saddle or kayak and that Mom was coming along to take pictures. It was a little too much for him to process at first, but after about 2 hours, and a gloriously delicious course meal in the dining room, he was happy and ready to go. He had tons of questions though about work, the farm, etc. All of it had been covered for months!
We had the most wonderful time!! He relaxed, slept until we simply woke up, talked without being interrupted, ate ice cream 24 hours a day, played putt putt golf,and the highlights - we went riding horses in the ocean and swimming with dolphins. Those were absolutely amazing and we would do them again in a heart beat!!! It really was a wonderful week and a great time for the two of us together - for the first time since moving from Utah, and definitely the first time since having children.
