Fairy Stone State Park

The kids and I just got back yesterday from a week trip with Nana KK and Pop Pop to Fairy Stone, their/our yearly vacation. The kids had a wonderful time!! They enjoyed playing and swimming at the beach, trying to catch fish and baby turtles with nets in the lake (Brianne caught a small fish), trying to find crayfish in the fish (again Brianne caught the most critters), hiking to the spillway, doing lots of crafts and games, going out for ice cream one night, and really just enjoying the week. We made a friend to the squirrels and ducks, with them multiplying as the week went on. At the beginning of the week we were feeding three squirrels and by the end of the week the number was up to nine.
I honestly really enjoyed seeing my book for sale in the park gift shop and beach concession shop. I also did two small book signings while there and it was neat seeing it being picked up and read. Next year is the 75th anniversary of the park and they have asked me to come up to do a presentation and a book signing at the celebration.
During the week, Alexander was absolutely wonderful!! He hardly ever cried, loved smiling and laughing at everyone and was just very easy going. Bryson was a Mommy's boy all week. He wanted to be held and carried a lot and seemed to get a little frustrated at times because he wanted to do what everyone else was doing. One day when fishing down at the lake he actually slipped and fell in, and that was that. It also did not help that he got pink eye while we were there. William was William. :) He really wanted to play with Brianne and Kyle more than they would let him, but enjoyed playing with his army men and toy guns with Bryson. I also think he tried to make sure he went to time out at least once a day. Brianne was very sweet during the trip. She wanted to play Barbie and do crafts. She got really burned at the beach after a few days and also got pink eye, so wanted to relax more at the cabin after that. Kyla ran right along with the kids and was especially happy when her Daddy, Healy, came up half way through the week. She wanted to show him everything.
It really was magical for the kids. The made their fairy houses for the fairies. Brianne found an actual fairy wing and the morning that we left the fairies left a small fairy stone and fairy box for each of them at their fairy houses. When getting home yesterday they were already asking me when we were going back again.
