So, we had a rather exciting weekend last weekend. Friday morning Bryan came inside and told all of us to get coats and shoes because we had baby goats. Betsy had delivered twins sometime during the night. They were so cute!!!!
It turned out to be quite a busy weekend. It was very cold and the babies were freezing and not doing well. Bryan went to work converting one of the horse stalls into a goat shelter. We moved the goats there and by noon one of the goats was not moving. She was cold and realized Betsy still had not dropped her milk. Our friend and neighbor Gary, went up to Southern States, and the baby came inside, where I started bottle feeding her. By that afternoon the other goat was in as well and they spent the night. Our friend's daughter, Maddie, asked to spend the night too to help. It was a busy night and morning of bottle feeding every two hours.
The next afternoon Betsy's milk finally came in and it was not as cold outside, so we took them out to her. The babies went right to her and they are doing great!
Brianne claimed the white and tan one and has named it Coconut. William has claimed the white and black one and has named it Brownie. They think they are really cute names and I love the goats!!!
