Goats have Arrived

When the kids and I got home from Mom's Saturday, Bryan surprised us and he and Gary had spent all afternoon putting up goat fencing. We had a wonderful evening. We spent the evening outside at Gary's. Going through the garden, steamin freshly cut corn outside and eating grilled zucchini and squash. Afterwards, we went down to see the goat fencing.
Bryan had found someone from work when he worked at Surry, who had 5 goats they were giving away.
Sunday, after church we drove over to pick them up. They were huge!!! They are pygmy males and one nubian female. Also when we picked them up we learned the female is pregnant. So, not only have we gotten 5 goats, but we have another one on the way soon.
We are so country! We brought those poor goats home in dog crates. They loved the grass though. They went to work eating it as soon as they got in there. After a little while some of them let us pet them too.
We each picked out one. Brianne's is the big pregnant Nubian named Betsy. Mine is the grey one with the white bottom. I named him Huggies. William's is the black one named Edmund. Bryson's is the other grey one named Twilight. Bryan picked out the solid white one and is still thinking of a name.
We had been talking about getting some goats eventually to put to work cleaning out the brush in the woods. We just had not planned on them so soon.

I can't believe you have 5 big goats now -- AND a horse, bunnies, etc... You'll have a full blown farm soon! Glad you're living your dream.

When I read Andrea's comment asking you when the baby will arrive, I immediately assumed you guys were expecting. It took me a few minutes to realize she was referring to the goats....right??? Too funny!! Hope all is well!
